Goodbye Ignorance, Hello Wisdom
Looking to God for direction, truth, and perspective.
Read Deuteronomy 4:5-14
1. Wisdom is from God (Dt. 4:11-13)
I cannot be truly wise without God’s help and revelation.
Prov. 29:18 “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.”
A. This is why God gave the commandments on Mount Sinai.
Deuteronomy 4:11-13
B. This is why God has given us the Scriptures.
Psalm 119:30, 37, 66, 104, 105
C. This is why God has given us his Son.
John 1:17-18; 1 John 2:5-6
D. This is why God has given us his Spirit.
Ephesians 1:15-19a
2. Wisdom is to Be Lived Out (Dt. 4:5)
Wisdom is ultimately something that must be put into action.
Deuteronomy 4:5 "See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it."
A. By God’s wisdom and guidance we can avoid snares and seize possibilities.
Prov. 1:20,29-33
B. By God’s wisdom and guidance we can stand strong through struggles.
Matt. 7:24-29
3. Wisdom is a Light and Legacy (Dt. 4:6-9)
When I live by God’s wisdom, my life becomes part of God’s revelation.
Prov. 13:20 "He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."
A. Others will notice when we live by God’s truth and wisdom.

B. Wisdom is something we teach to our children.

Say Good-Bye to Ignorance
Prov. 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways...
1 Cor. 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom...
Say Hello to Wisdom
Luke 19:29-44
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
